T2.1 – Platform augmentation with new features (M5 – M14, EKETA: 13 PM, D2.1):
The tasks in this section include the implementation of specific features in the WPUnity design software to augment its functionalities and satisfy the user requirements defined in T1.1. For example, organizers (TETRAGON) and exhibitors must be able to simultaneously intervene in the booth design to achieve consensus. Another feature to be implemented is the visualization of analytics regarding the number of virtual visitors at a booth and other related statistics, such as visit duration, amount of information received by visitors, and number of return visits.
T2.2 – Collection and import of ready-to-use multimedia into the platform (M7 – M18, TETRAGON: 9.4 PM; EKETA: 1.67 PM, D2.1, D2.2):
These actions include designing multimedia and 3D models in a format compatible with the platform, which will be uploaded to the platform as a set of available assets for constructing either the main exhibition spaces or the booths. Thus, exhibitors who possess few multimedia assets, e.g., a few images and videos, will be able to construct a booth using the 3D models already pre-loaded on the platform.
T2.3 – Platform Integration (M14 – M18, EKETA: 10 PM; TETRAGON: 2 PM, D2.2):
The tasks in this section include actions to ensure the interoperability of WPUnity with the virtual reality support software, Mozilla Hubs, so that they can fully support a trade fair in virtual reality. This is feasible because both software applications are based on WebGL and specifically the Three.js library [Three.js]. Furthermore, since WPUnity is a WordPress add-on, WordPress capabilities will be utilized for the management and information of platform users, as mentioned in Methodology – Stage A at the beginning of Chapter 3.
Roles:
EKETA will coordinate WP2 as the entity with experience in software development. TETRAGON will handle the collection of multimedia and 3D graphics that will be available on the platform.
